Call for Papers

Standards of Publication

What are the main criteria to get published in the Student Journal of Latin American Studies?

The paper must be original research conducted by a student, graduate or undergraduate, on any topic related to Latin America. Papers that are the synthesis of sources in a new and unique way will be considered for publication. Thus, the article must not be a literature review or a reiteration of the ideas of another scholar. Rather it should be an original contribution to the existing body of research in its topic; it must fill a knowledge gap. In addition, the paper must be well written (organization, wording, and diction are very important) and conform to high academic standards.
